Home Gets Transformed to Meet New Owner’s Taste and Lifestyle – St. Peters, Missouri

This St. Peter’s MO homeowner called upon the staff at Liston Design Build to enhance the finish and function of their new home.

This traditional home, well-built and spacious, didn’t provide the coziness, comfort or unique finishes our client desired.  The finish details were typical of any subdivision home….pretty standard and uninteresting.

In the kitchen, our client yearned for a storage center for wine, glassware and barware.

Enhancing the design of the Butler’s Pantry, custom features, such as a wine rack, stemware holder,

bead board backing, and crown molding, created a furniture- like focal point to the Kitchen.  To complete the Butler’s Pantry, a handcrafted, black walnut wood countertop was installed.

Adding interest to the expansive bank of existing Kitchen cabinetry along the range wall, a new taller cabinet was added above the microwave in the same distressed, painted finish.

By adding new granite countertops with an under mount stainless steel sink, a new high-arc pullout Kitchen faucet,  a natural stone backsplash with decorative metal accent tiles, cabinet hardware and lighting, this dream kitchen was anything but ordinary.

In the two-story Great Room, Liston Design Build trim carpenters added custom built-ins and expanded on a rather plain fireplace mantle.

The base cabinet doors of the built-in were lined with speaker cloth providing a concealed storage area for the audio video components.

in a fresh coat of paint, and this room was transformed into a cozy, custom space.

With a centrally located staircase and balcony, nothing made a more dramatic statement than removing the existing wood balusters, and replacing them with ornamental, wrought iron balusters.  A relatively simple task and design change with a big impact creating that custom home look.

Other interior renovations included painted wainscot, a new chandelier and new wall color in the Dining Room.  In the Hearth Room, a new custom built mantle was added.  Altogether, this typical builder’s home is transformed into something beyond the ordinary for our client.
