A Kitchen for a Cook…with Pops of Blue

Remodeled Kitchen with Blue Accents
Kitchen Remodel with Pops of Blue

The homeowner’s goal with this project was to open up the kitchen and make better use of the space. Before, it lacked counter space and good flow. With the appliances all crowded into one area and a stone fireplace hearth that, while beautiful, cut off traffic, the room was congested and difficult to navigate. Renovations included a new and improved layout. A peninsula was eliminated and the island was lengthened. The sink and appliances were relocated, and more cabinets were added to improve flow and gain critical counter and storage space. The stone fireplace hearth was removed and the entire façade was updated with custom painted tiles. Finally, to accommodate the owner’s wish for touches of her favorite color (cobalt blue), a beautiful Kohler cobalt cast iron sink, blue crystal knobs on the glass-front cabinets, and custom hand-painted tiles on the fireplace and backsplash were added to finish the space.
