When this busy family in Ladue wanted a luxury finished lower level, they returned to Liston Design Build for a massive 3,350 sq. ft. renovation. After gutting the existing lower level, they worked together with the homeowners to design unique spaces for every member of the family. For dad, it was a state-of-the-art home theater complete with electric seats that recline at the push of a button for viewing the 130-inch projector screen. For family fitness, it was a workout room complete with mirrored walls, a flat screen TV and an under-counter fridge. The kids also got unique, incredible spaces. There’s a sports court with a retractable batting cage as well as a stylish art room with custom cabinetry for supplies and painted concrete floors to hide splatters. A comfortable sitting room with big timber beams and masonry gas fireplace is a cozy place for the whole family to hang out. And the adjacent wine cellar with room for 1,000 bottles is the signature space for those grown-up dinner parties. The entire space is true multipurpose living for this family’s diverse needs.
